To Whom It May Concern:
I operate a volleyball website catering to the athletic community in Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. The website address is http://www.vbpimp.com. It was initially was built in 2002 to help a few friends keep track of Cleveland Ohio area volleyball activities. The site’s visits have continued to grow by word of mouth and now search engines on the web. Presently, the demographics of the site are specific to volleyball, making it an ideal avenue to advertise tournaments, leagues, parties and sports related merchandise. It is the primary site that the Cleveland athletic community utilizes for the most current volleyball information.
Additionally, last year I started the Pro Volleyball Series (PVS). The PVS is a summer long series of sand volleyball tournaments in which participants accumulate points based on their performance at each event. In our first year, participation was amazing with over 75 of the top level players in the area. Our second year looks even more promising with the introduction of other divisions and out of state interest.
In our first year, the players paid $20 to join the series and an entry fee at each tournament. I was able to offer 50% payback at the tournament and 50% went towards the finals pot. I did the 100% payback to entice players from Michigan, Pennsylvania and Southern Ohio to make the drive. I do this for the love of the sport. Unfortunately, love doesn’t pay the bills and I ended up losing money. With 2 kids and the money manager wife, I have to find a way to subsidize the series and keep it going.
Your company received this letter because we can benefit each other. My demographics are perfect for your product. If you are interested in being a sponsor, I can offer you direct marketing via my website, electronic newsletters and the series affiliation. The exposure is not just to the PVS players, but 1000’s of other volleyball players who either watch the tournaments or visit my site for information. My distribution list is approximately 1,100 players. Sponsorship is not limited to monetary compensation; merchandise is a nice reward and advertising opportunity as well. The more players we attract, the better exposure your company receives for a fraction of the cost of more traditional marketing programs. If you have questions or are interested, please contact me for further information.
Thanks,
